A. An executive summary. An executive summary is simply a short introduction of the main points in the business plan template. This overview provides a brief explanation of the entire proposal. It may briefly address why the entrepreneur believes that their company has unique qualities and/or opportunities, why they think their business could be successful, and what type of business they plan to start. While it is not essential, an executive summary is a key aspect of the whole document and should be written promptly following the submission of the business plan template. If an entrepreneur includes too many high-level points, it may seem like he is fluffing up his pitch for funding rather than providing enough information for potential investors.
The third area in which a well-formulated business plan proves very valuable is the development of an ultimate business model. The ultimate business model is simply the set of procedures and assumptions that describes the business as a functioning entity. Once you have a reasonable set of assumptions, it is easy to quickly and easily complete a financial model that reflects these assumptions. In most cases, you can develop your ultimate business plan in a single afternoon.
Business plans are a fundamental part of any successful business. A business plan is essentially a formal written document detailing the plans and objectives of an organization, the plans for achieving those objectives, and the anticipated time frame for success of those plans. This document is used to guide investment and management decisions, and is especially useful in an environment where organizational goals must be achieved in a reasonably timely manner.
As you continue to write and develop your business plan, you will want to add details and detail as you identify more aspects of your business. Write down any financials, sales forecasts, and projections based on the information you gather. While this plan represents a first draft, as you flesh it out it will become an ever-evolving document that describes your business in its true light-a light that is not too pessimistic, but one that is realistic enough to help you reach your startup goals.
Technology and Growth Strategies As a business grows, the business becomes more technologically advanced and may branch out into new markets. These markets need the services and products that the business provides. It also grows at an exponential rate. There are many ways to capitalize on growth and technology. Many companies have established their brand in these markets and want to extend their reach. Other companies will focus on expanding into these markets while others will focus on the existing markets.
Once you have your outline written, the next step is to create your executive summary. This is the section that will briefly describe your company, your unique selling proposition (or USP), and your unique history and development. For your executive summary, you may consider taking a cue from the USP, or a short phrase or two from your pizza shop's marketing strategy or from your pizzeria's menu.
