Business Plan Conclusion In order for a business to succeed, it must set clear goals and a plan to reach those goals. The planning process is not just a list of what will be done. The planning process should identify what can be done now and what will have to wait until later. It is important to put forward a detailed description of the future actions and focus on the strategies that will help achieve those actions. For any business to work efficiently and profitably, the planning process must be given careful thought and attention throughout its development.
A one-page business plan provides a starting point for any business or new business with only a few details. This format is easy to utilize because each section is generally an objective or critical analysis of one aspect of the company. Often this will provide data on the current marketplace as well as estimates of the revenue, expenses, net worth, and exit strategy. Data may be presented in percentages, and other means that allow a company to present a clear picture of the challenges before them and how they plan to overcome them.
D. A company overview. The company overview offers a clear picture of what the company is doing and identifies key personnel, operational responsibilities and other organizational elements. It is also useful in communicating to the senior management of the plan's objectives, strengths, goals and methods of approach.
E. A competitive analysis. The competitive analysis should include a discussion of the companies like home-based businesses that are the subject of the business plan. A description of the competitive environment should include specific examples (for example, "We compete in the home-based business field with other home-based companies such as the Sam's Club and Lowe's") as well as general guidelines and an overview of key advantages and challenges for the company.
The fourth critical component of effective business planning is identifying future requirements. In order to project future needs, it is necessary to consider how those needs will be identified, developed and maintained over time. A good business plan will provide a list of organizational functions and activities, a description of each function and a schedule for each function. A detailed description of future requirements should include objectives and time periods for each requirement, an assessment of costs and expected benefits and a description of transitional expenses. The balance sheet should be prepared based on the assumption that operating revenue will cover capital investments, debt and interest costs and net worth.
Strategy For competitive reasons, it is important to include a competitive evaluation of the business. It is possible that competitors have lower costs or other advantages than the business. The strategic review should identify how the business can compete with these advantages and build a stronger position. This area should also consider the importance of market share and how the target market will be affected by the competitive change.
